Das Ritterbrecher - German for "The Knight Crusher"
A new weapon out of Carrion's arsenal, intended for situations where more speed and refined technique is required than his brutal Zweihander allows.
Description: A positively brutal, no-frills greatsword that stands 6'9" overall, and weighs in at approximately 12 lbs. Its entire design screams efficiency, death, destruction, and an intimate knowledge of swords, metallurgy and metalwork. The pommel and guard are made of a case-hardened steel and gun-blued to a pearlescent black.
The pommel is large, heavy, and faceted for striking. The 16-inch ironwood grip is in two pieces, separated by a cast iron spacer. The pommelward half is wrapped in heavy-gauge steel wire, and the hiltward half is wrapped in super-tough dragonite-hide leather.
The guard is vaguely batwing-shaped, pointed, and the bladeward sides are sharpened into edges The pattern-welded blade spans 63 inches, the first ten of which is a thick, stiff, unsharpened ricasso. Separating the ricasso from the edge is a set of parrying lugs projecting three inches out to either side. The edged portion of the blade is a jagged "flamberge"-style, with sharpened points for intimidation and maximum armor-breaking and damage-dealing potential. It also has a fuller running the length of the blade to reduce weight.
