Description
This sixth print is essentially a return to the simplicity after the fleshrending pain and torment of a reduction print. It's right back to one block, one color.
I've always liked the Soul Calibur series, and the design of the Soul Edge was always teh HAWT SHIZZIT. I just thought it was a bit plain, so I came up with a more organic redesign of the weapon and made a print of it.
I didn't want to use black since it might have created too much contrast. I wanted the shading to be a bit more subtle, so this particular red was used. I never really figured out a way to carve up the clouds so that the grip of the sword would stick out more, so I'm sort of left with this.
I think the lower half of the print is awesome, it's just the upper half that's leaving me feeling a bit empty in terms of graphical effect.
9"x12" linoleum block on 11x13" Lenox print paper.
