This is a lightning photo I took while on the fire escape just outside my window. It isn't as spectacular as some the lightning photography I've seen here, but I was inspired by the purplish hue of the sky at the time.
Fortunately, the photograph retained the particular hue, but it didn't seem to come out looking the way my naked eyes saw it.
So I took some artistic license with photoshop. It's not really classifiable as a photomanip since all I did was play around with contrasts, levels, and fine-tuning color balances to reach this vivid point.
what a shocker, heh very true I am seeing a lot of just spectacular view from that lightning.

i think this deserves a lot more credit than you are giving it. i really like the multiple arcs of lightning, and how each seems fainter (or brighter) than the last. it's interesting to look at.
it's especially impressive to me because i know how hard it is to successfully photograph lightning- i've tried a whole fuckload of times, and as of yet i still have to capture a lightning shot i'm satisfied with. there's just so much luck involved with taking photos of lightning, erratic and wonderfully random as it is.
